Planning in organizations and public policy is both the organizational process of creating and maintaining a plan; and the psychological process of thinking about the activities required to create a desired goal on some scale. As such, it is a fundamental property of intelligent behavior. This thought process is essential to the creation and refinement of a plan, or integration of it with other plans, that is, it combines forecasting of developments with the preparation of scenarios of how to react to them. An important, albeit often ignored aspect of planning, is the relationship it holds with forecasting. Forecasting can be described as predicting what the future will look like, whereas planning predicts what the future should look like. The term is also used to describe the formal procedures used in such an endeavor, such as the creation of documents, diagrams, or meetings to discuss the important issues to be addressed, the objectives to be met, and the strategy to be followed. Beyond this, planning has a different meaning depending on the political or economic context in which it is used. Two attitudes to planning need to be held in tension: on the one hand we need to be prepared for what may lie ahead, which may mean contingencies and flexible processes. On the other hand, our future is shaped by consequences of our own planning and actions. OverviewPlanning is a process for accomplishing purpose. It is a blue print of business growth and a road map of development. It helps in deciding objectives both in quantitative and qualitative terms. It is setting of goals on the basis of objectives and keeping in view the resources. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Planning a trip to Italy and need to know the best airports to get from Lucca to Venice? Q. I'm planning a trip from to Italy next year, and I'm trying to get my plans together. I'm going to be flying in from the United States, most likely from either Chicago or Atlanta (probably Atlanta). The main destinations of this trip is Lucca to see the great walled city, and then to Venice. I need to know which airports are the best to fly into, specifically, from Lucca to Venice, and about how long that flight time would take. Any and all help is appreciated! Asked by Yangie J - Sun Nov 18 20:59:51 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't think there are flights between Lucca and Venice (anyway I can't find any on Venice airport website but I don't think it'd be the better way, anyway; by train, minimum time is less than 4 hours: Edit: I didn't even consider airport outside of Lucca, since as you can see from the answer below, it'll take anyway four hours airport to airport; then you should add the time needed for reaching Pisa airport from Lucca, then the time needed for reaching Venice from Treviso... If you catch a train you can start from the center of Lucca ending up in Venezia Mestre in a minimum of 3:54 hours, but even with the slower options/schedules it's five hours. When travelling inside Italy, you should generally consider a flight only for longer… [cont.] Answered by Pinguino - Sun Nov 18 21:37:52 2007 Planning a vacation to Alaska; What are the places to visit? Q. I am planning to fly to Alaska, and rent an RV. I would rather visit in a leisurely manner the beautiful sceneries of alaska, and attractions. instead of regimented visits done during the Cruises(I feel they are expensive). Any suggestions of what places to visit? What scenic routes to visit? and Glaciers, etc? Thank you. Asked by DragonHeart - Fri Apr 13 17:11:13 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Prior to your trip, pick up a copy of the MilePost. This is the RVer's bible for traveling the Alaskan Highway and touring Alaska. It will detail all the sites and what milemarker, on what highway everything is on. Find it at www.milepost.com. We got ours at amazon.com for half price. You could opt for last years edition since you won't be traveling the entire Alaskan Highway. Also pick up a copy of Frommers Alaska travel guide. it's worth it's weight in gold. A lot depends on where you will rent the RV. Anchorage would be my guess and that's good, although Fairbanks could be better. As soon as possible go to a Safeway store and pick up a Tour Saver coupon book. It's $99 and it will pay for it's self in Fairbanks alone. This book is full… [cont.] Answered by Arthur - Fri Apr 13 18:15:17 2007 Where to get started on planning a wedding?
Q. We're planning on getting married towards the end of the year, October/November. I don't know where to get started on the planning. We only want a very small wedding, 30-40 people tops, and it's going to be pretty casual, so I thought there wouldn't be a lot to plan, but it's getting more confusing by the day, lol. What are all the things I need to think about and in what order should I organise them? Asked by Mum To Superkids is engaged - Sun Feb 7 19:10:30 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. First you need to come up with a budget. How much can the two of you afford to spend? Then start looking at a location to have the ceremony/reception. Sit down with your fiance and talk about what aspects are most important to you. Pick your wedding colors. Put together the guest list. Decide on what types of food you want to serve. Search for DJ, Photographer, JP or officiant, caterer. Pick your bridal party. Check out theknot.com, weddingwire.com, or marthastewratweddings.com for a list of everything that you will need to do and about when you should have it done. Best of luck and Congrats!
