What are the little league rules regarding practices?
Q. Can a coach schedule more pracitces than the practices already scheduled by the league? If yes, then can the coach schedule practice at their house or does it have to be a designated area by the league?
Asked by Clowdy - Tue Apr 10 09:26:48 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You must follow the bylaws of your baseball association. Playing in the designated parks is to your advantage due to insurance purposes, if a child is hurt else where the medical bills will not be covered. Coaches should and must follow the guide lines, they were enacted for a purpose. (Baseball association secretary 5 yrs.) When our coaches go against the by-laws they are banned from coaching a home game, if the act is of a worse nature it is voted upon and a suspension can be handed down. If you are a trouble maker coach in one sport, it is carried over into another sport, thus you cannot coach. Remember it is for the kids to have FUN, its not the win. Some coaches lose perspective if this is recreational, and not a travel team.

What is appropriate agency to report cell phone company to for deceptive practices?
Q. My son went to the store to switch cell phones (fairly new one was defective), text messaging was removed by store employee on the day of switch-over (without our knowledge) and nothing was put in its place. $600 later (yes, he texts a lot but we had unlimited) company will not assume responsibility when it was their representatives fault. They have offered me a $40 credit - ha. In my opinion these are fraudulent & deceptive practices. I intend to take this as far as I have to but am not really sure where to start. FTC? Any advice? I will probably file a small claims against them as well.

A. The Better Business Bureau can probably settle this for you. I have had similar run-ins and was able to solve them by continuing up the ladder until I reached someone with both sense and authority. The FCC and Consumer Protection Agency may both be a good resource if the BBB can't get you satisfaction, but as always, this private agency is going to be faster and more effective than any bloated tax payer funded agency.
